What type of grant suits your project

Community grants programmes

There are two community grants programmes: local, and regional (Auckland-wide).

Local board grants

Twenty-one local boards award local board grants to local groups and organisations, services, events and activities that benefit residents in their local board area.

Each local board offers different grant types. Check the grant programmes on each of the grant pages to see what is available.

Our tip

Each local board determines the exact monetary threshold for a grant, individually.

Local grants

These grants are generally for higher value grants (over $2,000) and are available once or twice a year.

You or your organisation need to complete a more detailed online application and accountability processes, and sign a formal funding agreement.

Quick response grants

These grants are generally for small value grants (up to $2,000) and we offer them more frequently. Note: not all local boards offer quick response grants.

You will need to complete a simplified online application and sign a letter of agreement.

We will action payments as quickly as possible.

Our tip

Check the funding round dates in our grants calendar or the local board grant programmes.

Multi-board grants

Multi-board grants enable applicants to apply to three or more local boards for the same project.

Regional grants programmes

Our Governing Body awards grants to regionally significant groups and organisations, services, events and activities that benefit residents across Auckland.
