Get a horse riding pass

You can ride your horse in nine regional parks around Auckland with a horse riding pass.

Register for a free horse riding pass

You need a pass to ride a horse in a regional park. The pass is valid for 12 months and is free of charge.

As a registered rider, you will:

  • receive the park combination codes needed to open some of the gates
  • get information on track or park closures
  • learn about new riding opportunities
  • ensure your details are on file in case of an emergency
  • provide us with valuable information about the demand for horse riding across the region.

You must have your pass with you when you are riding in a regional park.

You can see more about access and riding group size limits for individual regional parks on the Where to ride a horse page.

Our tip

Call us on 09 301 0101 if:

  • you want to ride in a group larger than the park limit
