Objecting to information in the Rating Information Database (RID)
The Rating Information Database (RID) contains information required for setting and addressing rates on a property.
Talk to us if we have your details wrong.
Reasons for objecting to information about your property on the RID
Please note: This is a separate process to objections to property valuations.
You can object to the information that we hold on your property for the following reasons:
- A rating unit included in the district valuation roll has been omitted from the database.
- Information included in the district valuation roll has been omitted from, or inaccurately entered in, the database.
- The information included in the database, other that information entered from the district valuation roll, is incorrect .
- There has been a failure to enter a lawful amendment to the district valuation roll into the database.
If you wish to object to the rating information we currently hold for your property on our RID, you can use the online RID rates objection form or you can download the Objection to Rating Information Database form (PDF 76KB), complete it and email it to email@example.com or post it to:

2014 property revaluation
This year we will carry out revaluations of 525,000 Auckland properties.
The revaluation will determine each property's current capital value (which is used to determine rates levels), as well as land value and improvement value.
We will send revaluation notices in mid-November and changes will not impact rates until the 2015/16 rating year.
You can find more information on the General revaluation 2014 page.
