What the Policy, Planning and Development Committee does 

This committee sets the direction, policies and plans for Auckland’s physical development and growth. 

Its focus areas include (but are not limited to):

• land use
• policy for:
  • planning
  • growth
  • infrastructure
  • housing
  • waste management and minimisation, including the Waste Minimisation and Management Plan
• developing and approving policies that support economic development, including the Economic Development Action Plan 
• monitoring council’s Māori outcomes strategy, including the Māori Outcomes Fund
• working with advisory panels.
