Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings in person.
These meetings are usually held on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

Members of the public can speak at local board business meetings through:
Anyone can speak for up to three minutes during a public forum at a business meeting as long as the topic is related to the roles and responsibilities of the local board.
You do not need to give notice to speak during a public forum but you must tell the democracy advisor that you intend to speak before the meeting starts.
You can also speak at a business meeting for up to 10 minutes through a deputation. This is a formal presentation and needs approval from the chairperson.
Email whaulocalboard@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz at least seven working days before the date of the meeting if you want to speak through a deputation.

At local board workshops, local board members discuss various projects and initiatives within their area. These workshops are used to:
Decisions are not made at these workshops. They are only for discussions and to help local board members prepare to make decisions.
Members of the public can attend some of the Whau Local Board workshops in person. Some sessions may be closed to the public if they involve sensitive information.
