The Snells Beach to Ōrewa Hibiscus Coast Shoreline Adaptation Plan (SAP) considers the future of council-owned land and assets across the region's coastal areas in response to the impacts of coastal processes, climate change, erosion and flooding.
The Rodney Local Board and Hibiscus and Bays Local Board endorsed this SAP in July 2025.
This SAP covers the area from the northern end of Snells Beach and includes the coastal areas of Mahurangi, Waiwera and Ōrewa, to the northern Silverdale area close to the Ōrewa estuary.
