The Waitematā Harbour West SAP considers the future of council-owned land and assets between Northcote Point and Westhaven Marina in response to the impacts of coastal processes, climate change, erosion and flooding.

The Policy and Planning Committee approved the Waitematā Harbour West SAP on 24 July 2025.

Stages of the Waitematā Harbour West SAP 

• 24 July 2025 - plan approved by the Policy and Planning Committee.
• April to June 2025 - plan endorsed by the Waitematā, Henderson-Massey, Rodney, Albert-Eden, Upper Harbour, Kaipātiki and Whau local boards.
• October 2024 to June 2025 – feedback reviewed, final plan drafted and developed.
• 2 August to 26 September 2024 - plan opened for public consultation (community feedback).
• June 2024 and ongoing - local iwi engagement.
