Ways to pay for council services and charges
Pay online with myAUCKLAND
You can pay, view your transaction history, account balance and payment deadlines in one place with myAUCKLAND. You can use myAUCKLAND to:
- pay an invoice
- pay for a booking
- pay an infringement (fine)
- renew your dog registration
- pay your rates.
You can pay with:
- Visa or MasterCard - We charge a 1.75 per cent convenience fee. International fees may apply.
- Account2Account - Check your bank's terms and conditions. Allow two working days for payments to process.
Online EFTPOS is unavailable until mid-2026 while we upgrade our systems.
Pay an invoice
You can pay for:
- building consents
- resource consents
- alcohol licences
- food licences
- street trading
- licence to keep animals
- portable and temporary signage exemption
- dog registration.
You will need:
- a myAUCKLAND account
- your invoice, renewal notice or approval letter.
Pay for a booking
You can pay for:
- event permits
- film applications
- sports applications
- CampPass applications
- Transit Lane applications.
You will need:
- a myAUCKLAND account
- your invoice number.
Pay an infringement (fine)
You can pay for:
- alcohol infringements
- building infringements
- dog infringements
- food infringements
- footpath occupation infringements
- resource consent infringements
- wandering stock infringements.
You will need the infringement number on your infringement notice.
Renew your dog registration
You will need your dog's reference number which is on your renewal notice. This number has 11 digits and is different to your six-digit dog tag number.

Pay with internet banking
Visit your bank's website to pay by internet banking.

Account: Refer to your invoice or notice.
Particulars: Refer to your invoice or notice.

Ref: Refer to your invoice or notice.
Overseas payment swift code: Refer to your invoice or notice.
If you are paying multiple invoices or notices, email direct.credit@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz and include the invoice or notice numbers.
Pay in person
You can pay at:
- libraries with council services - We accept payments by EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa (with a 0.67 per cent surcharge for credit cards).
- NZ Post shops - NZ Post shops accept cash and EFTPOS payments. They can only accept payments for bills that have barcodes.
