COVID-19 rubbish and recycling information

Auckland’s kerbside rubbish, recycling and food scraps collections are considered essential services and will continue as usual. In order to keep providing this service, the council will be following all Ministry of Health guidelines to ensure that public health is not compromised.

Household on-property inorganics collections beginning 26 March onwards have been postponed.

No household bin removals, exchanges or minor repairs will be done at this time.

From 6pm on 25 March, the Waitākere, Aotea/Great Barrier Island Claris Landfill and Waiheke Island transfer stations will be closed to the general public and open only for licensed waste collectors providing essential services. Community recycling centres are also closed.
