Complete the application form with the following information: 

• full name (it must match the name on your driving licence)
• email address
• postal address
• vehicle registration number
• make of vehicle
• type of vehicle
• emergency contact and phone number.

Email regionalparksbcp@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz with your completed application form.

By emailing us with your application, I agree and confirm that:

• the information I have provided is accurate
• I have read the rules and guidelines for using a vehicle on beaches and understand that:
  • my vehicle must have a current registration and Warrant of Fitness (WOF)
  • I must follow the road rules for beaches on Muriwai and Karioitahi beaches, including speed limits
  • I must keep out of all prohibited or restricted areas
  • if I fail to abide with these or any other rules or guidelines for driving on beaches, my permit will be cancelled and I will not be eligible to reapply for one year from the date of cancellation.
• I have also read Auckland Council's terms and conditions and privacy policy.

We will send you an email with your permit. You will need to have a copy of your permit with you when using your vehicle on the beach. Print a copy, or have it on your phone.

What you should know

• You must comply with the rules and guidelines for using a vehicle on Muriwai and Karioitahi beaches or your permit may be revoked. These rules and guidelines are listed on the second page of the permit. Read the rules and guidelines and make sure that you understand them.
• Make sure all your details on the permit are correct.
• You must carry photo ID and the permit when using your vehicle on the beach.
• It may take up to five working days to receive your permit.
• Your permit is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
