Customer-facing facilities like leisure centres, community venues, customer service centres and libraries will remain closed until further notice. Essential services will continue.

Wear a face covering, use the NZ COVID Tracer app, maintain a 2m physical distance, wash your hands, and stay home if you are sick.

You must apply for a new permit each year and for each vehicle you want to use.

Before you apply, read the rules for driving on Muriwai and Karioitahi beaches.

WARNING: If you take your vehicle into the sand dunes, you will be prosecuted or fined.

Driving on all other beaches is prohibited, except to launch or retrieve a boat or in emergency situations.
