About the path

Get away from it all at Puhinui Reserve, a working farm with sheep and cattle that feels far from the city.

This is a great walkway and mountain biking track in a rural environment with views of the Manukau Harbour. The coastal wetlands conservation area and bush reserve are home to native birdlife.

The mountain bike trails are relatively flat, with a few small hills. This makes it an ideal place for beginners and children to practice and get used to mountain biking.

The track is dirt and gravel. It's mainly a double track, narrowing to a single track further out by the coast. The route is fairly dry in the warmer months - but expect to get pretty muddy during winter.

Start at Price Road, where you'll find public toilets and drinking water. If you're keen to ride there, you can reach the starting point via the dedicated cycle lanes along Cavendish Drive.

This is a working farm, so please leave gates as you found them.
