Mahurangi CSC parking area at Mahurangi West Regional Park

Only vehicles with a NZS5465 Certified Self-Containment Certificate (CSC) can stay for up to three nights. Maximum of one vehicle per booking.

This campground has marked designated sites, where campers must camp.

Individual sites cannot be booked - camp in any unoccupied site.

Directions and access

Main park gates are open from 6am to 9pm during daylight savings hours and 6am to 7pm during non-daylight saving hours.

You will find a locked campground gate at the northern end of the car park. You will be given a combination code for the gate with your booking confirmation.

You cannot access the campground after the park closing time.

Booking information

Bookings can only be made six months in advance for campgrounds. Availability refreshes at midnight daily.

  • Toilets and bathrooms

    No toilets as vehicles must be self-contained.

Rules

  • Animals

    Dogs, other animals and pets are prohibited at all times.

  • Cleaning

    Your campsite must be clean and tidy during your stay, and when you leave.

  • Rubbish

    No bins or rubbish disposal facilities. Take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

  • Day visitors

    All visitors must park in the day use car park.

  • Overnight vehicles and tents

    You may stay in certified self-contained (CSC) vehicles at this site. Must have a current NZS5465 Certified Self-Containment Certificate from Ministry for the Environment.

    Motorhomes, campervans, caravans, 5 wheelers and buses must not be longer than 8m.

    You may not stay in tents or portable container dwellings.

  • Fires

    Fires prohibited at all times.
