Industrial water cooling systems

Industrial water cooling systems are cooling devices used in an industrial process. They do not include mechanical ventilation systems or similar with a compliance schedule.

Industrial water cooling systems can spread legionnaire’s disease if not correctly maintained.

All owners of industrial cooling towers must register before 1 July every year. There will be no fee charged for the first year of registration if registered before the deadline. A registration fee will apply to registrations made after 1 July 2016.

This is a new requirement as part of the Property Maintenance and Nuisance bylaw, which applies from 1 November 2015.
