Current projects in the Howick Local Board area

There are a number of projects and developments happening in the Howick Local Board area.

AMETI Eastern Busway

AMETI (Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative) is creating a dedicated busway connecting Panmure, Pakuranga and Botany Town Centre.

This project is being delivered by Auckland Transport.

Ormiston Town Centre

The town centre development  on Ormiston Road will include a mix of retail, leisure and community facilities to cater for the estimated 230,000 residents in the area by 2028.

The project is being developed by Todd Properties in conjunction with Panuku Developments Auckland.

Community facilities in Flat Bush

A new library and community space is being developed at Ormiston Town Centre. There are also plans to build an aquatic centre.

Funding of $35 million has been confirmed for the library facility, and $48 million for the aquatic centre. 

More details are yet to be confirmed. However, it's anticipated that construction for the library facility will take place from 2021-23, while the aquatic centre will be built from 2023-25.
