Working dogs

Working dogs are dogs used for herding or driving stock, security or pest control.

​Lower registration fee for working dogs

If your dog is a working dog, the annual registration fee is discounted.

You need to sign a declaration that your dog is used for this purpose.

We might ask to see your dog performing its specified functions.

Complete the Declaration of a working dog form:

Alternatively, you can save and email your completed form to us or bring it into any of our service centres.

Exemption from micro-chipping

Working dogs do not have to be micro-chipped unless they are classified as menacing or dangerous or have been impounded.
