Piwakawaka Eco Structure Glamping Site at Wenderholm Regional Park

This pre-erected luxury Eco Structure tent is located on a small peninsula overlooking the Puhoi River Estuary.

This tent provides better shelter and accessibility, and is suited for year-round glamping.

The tent can accommodate four people. It features a comfortable queen-sized bed and two single bunks with clean bedding and towels. Cooking utensils, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery are provided.


Help protect our kauri trees

We have closed large sections of our parks network to prevent the spread of kauri dieback.

When you visit our parks you need to clean your footwear and equipment to avoid transferring disease from one area to another. For more information see Protect our kauri trees.

Directions and access

Go through the main park automatic entrance gate, travel approx 570 meters to the site entrance. Follow the signs to the glamping site.

The campground and the park is not accessible after park closing times. Combination code will not open the main park gate.

Booking information

Bookings can only be made six months in advance for campgrounds. Availability refreshes at midnight daily.

  • Main room: one queen bed
  • Side room: two single bunk beds (i.e. sleeps 2 people). Top bunk is not recommended for under 9 year olds.
  • Bedding includes duvet with cover, sheets and pillow cases and clean towels.
Bring your own food and personal items.

Battery-powered internal lighting.


Kitchen facilities

Chilly bin, gas hob kettle, pots and pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, and tea towels provided. There is also a barbeque with side burners available to use.


Toilets and bathrooms

Outdoor solar shower and shower tent, and portaloo provided. Public toilets located a short 80 metres away.







Dogs are prohibited at all times.



You must keep the surrounding site clean and tidy during your stay, and when you leave.



There are labelled Molok recycle and general rubbish containers just outside the entrance to the main camping area. Only put recyclable items into the recycling container as sign-posted. Dispose of all food waste in the worm container.


Overnight vehicles and tents

Maximum of two vehicles per tent.
You may not stay in your own tent, purpose-built van, campermatic, caravan, 5th wheeler, campervan or small bus.



Fires prohibited at all times. The gas barbecue and bottle must remain outside the tent at all times.
