Barr Cottage at Huia, Waitākere Ranges Regional Park

COVID-19 accommodation information

Baches, lodges and self-contained vehicle sites are open for bookings.

Scheduled winter closures are in place for some campgrounds.

Auckland Council baches remain self-clean spaces. Please clean all utensils, crockery and surfaces on your arrival and departure.

To limit the potential number of contaminated surfaces, we have removed all unnecessary items e.g. books and games, to maintain a high level of hygiene and allow for thorough cleaning of all surfaces. For hygiene reasons all pillows have been removed so please ensure that you bring your own pillows.

Barr Cottage is only a few steps from the water.

This three bedroom cottage was built by Bill Barr between 1935 and 1940. Materials were reused from the original Barr cottage of the late 1880s, which once stood alongside.

Help protect our kauri trees

We have closed large sections of the Waitākere Ranges to prevent the spread of kauri dieback.

When you visit our parks you need to clean your footwear and equipment to avoid transferring disease from one area to another. For more information see Protect our kauri trees.
