Register your dog
If you live in the Auckland Council area, you need to register your dog with us each year. Registration runs from1 July to 30 June the following year.
You risk a fine of up to $300 or prosecution if you don't register your dog.
Renew your dog registration
You should receive a renewal notice in June each year if you have registered your dog with us before. If you do not, please contact us to make sure we have your correct details.
Once you've received your renewal notice, check that your or your dog's details are correct and let us know if anything has changed.
In some areas only one owner can be the registered owner, so you might not be listed on the form. You can be a dog's legal owner, but not necessarily a registered owner.
