What is the elected members' register of interests

The Local Government Act 2002 has been amended to include a requirement for members to make returns about their financial interests, including:

• property
• companies
• employment and contracts
• trusts
• gifts and donations.

Timeframe for declarations of interest

From 2023, all elected members must submit their declarations by February every year.

Understanding the search results

If the documents that appear as search results have:

• “Declaration” in the title, then they come from years 2019-2022
• “Register” in the title, then they are from October 2022 onwards and will feature the updated information format.
