Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Community Volunteer Awards

Every two years, we celebrate the efforts of the unsung heroes and organisations that volunteer in our community. Applications for 2019 are closed and the winners will be announced 28 March 2019. Nominations will open in January 2021.

​Award categories

Arts category

A person or organisation demonstrating commitment, long service and making a difference to the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu arts scene.

Sports category

A person or organisation going above and beyond to make their sport, club or team a success on or off the field.

Community service (local heroes) category

Individuals making a difference to the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu community.

These are our ‘good sorts’ – the people that are always there giving a helping hand when needed.

Young person making a difference category

Under 18-year-olds demonstrating community service or helping their peers.

Culture category

Recognising a person or organisation that demonstrates leadership and commitment to preserving, showcasing, and celebrating our culture – including heritage.

Seniors category

Recognising the outstanding and continuing contributions that senior volunteers make daily throughout the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu community.
