Health and safety of our contractors

​How we ensure our contractors' health and safety

We are committed to working with our contractors to ensure their health and safety.

All contractors undertaking work for us must declare their health and safety performance.

Contractors must have an adequate health and safety management system that includes:

  • safe systems of work
  • safe work environments
  • safe plant and equipment
  • adequate health and safety training and supervision.

Contractors intending to undertake high risk work must demonstrate that they:

  • have the appropriate resources, knowledge, and expertise
  • have had their health and safety system appraised against an acceptable external standard (prequalification)

We recognise valid external accreditation, such as AS/NZ 4801 or OHSAS 18001 and valid prequalification agents for prequalification.
