Register a new or existing pool

If you currently have an unregistered pool, you will need to register it with us for safety purposes.

Ensure your pool is registered

All residential swimming pools must be registered with us. This includes some small heated and temporary pools.

There is no charge to do this, but an ongoing targeted rate may apply to cover the cost of periodic inspections.

A pool will be automatically registered if constructed through the building consent process. A small heated pool may not need to be registered if it is exempt under Clause F9 / AS2 of the Building Code.
