Proposal to classify land and grant new community lease at Clarks Beach Boat Ramp, Torkar Road, Clarks Beach

​Auckland Council gives notice that Franklin Local Board intends, under the Reserves Act 1977, to classify the land at Torkar Road, Clarks Beach and grant a new community lease for 549sqm (more or less) to Clarks Beach Yacht Club Incorporated for their operation at Torkar Road, Clarks Beach.

The land is held in fee simple by Auckland Council and legally described as Lot 5 DP 77054 contained in Record of Title NA33C/98 as an unclassified Local Purpose (esplanade) Reserve; Lot 1 DP 82459 contained in Record of Title NA39A/431 and Lot 1 DP 110345 contained in Record of Title NA/62B/8 as an unclassified recreation reserve.

It is intended to classify these the first parcel as a local purpose (esplanade) reserve and the remaining 2 land parcels as recreation reserve. The club’s aim is to foster the sport of sailing, providing opportunities for recreational and competitive sailing and water sports; with a focus on sailing, sail training, water confidence and water safety.

The proposed new community lease is for a term of 10 years with one right of renewal for 10 years, as outlined in Auckland Council’s Community Occupancy Guidelines (updated June 2023).

Any person wishing to comment or make an objection or submission in respect of the above proposal is to send this in writing to Jenny Young, Community Lease Specialist, by the close of business on Friday, 3 May 2024. Please indicate if you wish to be heard in relation to your submission.
