Strategy to minimise alcohol-related harm

Rautaki poro rarunga kai waipiro

The aim of the strategy

  • To deliver a coordinated, consistent approach across Auckland Council and council-controlled organisations (CCOs) to minimise alcohol-related harm in Auckland communities.
  • To set a vision and clear outcomes for staff to work towards.
  • To provide specific priorities for action by unit or function.

We adopted the strategy in August 2016.

Our wider programme of work on alcohol

Development of the local alcohol policy is just one part of our wider programme of work on alcohol, which includes this strategy and the review of alcohol bylaws and alcohol bans.
