This bush covered reserve features mature kauri and tānekaha, including some that are between 300 and 400 years old.
A 60m treetop boardwalk sits 18m above the ground. It gives you a birds-eye view of the trees and reduces the risk of spreading kauri dieback disease. Please use the shoe cleaning stations at the reserve entrances to help us combat this disease. Learn more about What we are doing about kauri dieback.
There is limited street parking available around the reserve. You may need to walk some distance, or you could consider using public transport. The number 25 bus stops on Onewa Road.
The nearest public toilets are at the Highbury Birkenhead Shopping Mall and Te Kaitaka / Greenslade Reserve.

Animals
Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.
Alcohol

Our parks are all smokefree.
Waste
Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.
