At Alert Level 3: Step 2 you can travel throughout Auckland for exercise and recreation outdoors. Our early childhood centres are open for enrolled children only.

Some customer-facing facilities like service centres and community centres are now open. Essential services continue.

Opanuku Walkway

Description of Opanuku Walkway

This walkway, near the Henderson centre, follows a stream which weaves through lush native bush.

This is a very sheltered area, perfect for walkers or joggers, even on cool or windy days.

Opanuku highlights include the kōwhai in flower (around October) and the fantail, tūī and kingfishers.

There is a picnic area at the Border Road entry/exit.



How to access Opanuku Walkway

Access Opanuku Walkway via Henderson Park, Wilsher Crescent, Palomino Drive, Border Road, Chardon Place, Vintage Drive, Claret Place, Fitzwater Place or Khaleel Place.
