Ngā kaupapa ā-taiao Tahua Pūtea 10-tau 2018-2028

$311m has been set aside for the environment over the next 10 years. This page details the new and expanded projects taking place in the next 12 months.

Kauri dieback (expanded)

Project cost

$14m

This project will introduce 100km of new, high quality tracks and 100 hygiene stations to reduce the risk of people spreading kauri dieback disease.

Pest Free Auckland support (new)

Project cost

$3.6m

This project will see investment in a community relationship management system and regional telemetry network.

It will provide a digital platform with information about support, resources, and initiatives, as well as the ability to collect community data to a regional level.

Rural possum control (expanded)

Project cost

$400,000

This project aims to reduce possums to low levels across rural Auckland, so that native species and primary production can flourish.

Over the next 12 months, rural possum control will be carried out in over 30,000ha of the Hunua Ranges, the 'Hunua Halo' buffer, and the Tapora, South Head, and Awhitu Peninsulas.
