At present, rubbish collection services are different between former council areas:

We currently do not collect rubbish from commercial properties.

Contact a private waste service for bins, bags and collection.

We collect rubbish from council red lidded rubbish bins with pre-paid bin tags attached.

We collect rubbish in rates-funded 120L wheelie bins weekly.

For inner CBD, we collect rubbish in council pre-paid orange bags twice daily, once on Sundays.

Recycling services for household quantities are available in Auckland except for the former Manukau City Council area.

For recycling, use clear council plastic bags.
We collect cardboard separately. Flatten the cardboard and place on the kerb next to your recycling. Make sure these are placed in a way that they will not be blown away.
Recycling and cardboard are collected twice daily (once on Sundays).

The recycling service is provided in comingled (plastic, glass, cans, paper and cardboard in the same bin) wheelie bins collected fortnightly.

We provide an inorganic collection service to small business once every year.

We only collect domestic items, not commercial inorganic waste.
