Reduce hazardous waste

Hazardous waste can potentially harm people's health and pollute the environment. These products normally have a warning on their label.

How to reduce hazardous waste

You can reduce hazardous waste by:

  • using a safer alternative to commercial cleaning chemicals (e.g. baking soda, vinegar and borax)
  • reducing the use of chemicals in your house and garden
  • using environment-friendly products
  • disposing of hazardous waste properly.

See Hazardous waste to find out about safe disposal.
