Ways to pay online

Online EFTPOS

What is Online EFTPOS?

Online EFTPOS is a cost-free and secure alternative to traditional online payments.

You can pay online with your smart phone directly from your bank app.

This is one of the safest and easiest ways to pay online, and it's also one of the most secure payment methods available as you don't need to expose your payment or banking credentials.

How Online EFTPOS works

You will receive a notification in your bank's app requesting confirmation of payment.

You must approve this request to complete your transaction.

Your payment will clear instantly.

Credit and debit card

Auckland Council has opted in to 3-D Secure for online credit and debit (MasterCard / Visa) transactions.

This is an additional security feature that reduces the risk of your card being used fraudulently.

You should know

A 1.75 per cent card payment fee applies on all credit or debit card payments.

Why we charge a card payment fee

Auckland Council has to pay ongoing third-party fees for accepting and processing credit card payments. The credit card fee we charge covers these costs.

The credit card fee is 1.75 per cent of the payment you make using your credit card. It is added to your total payment.

When paying online, this fee also applies to debit cards.

You will not be charged a fee if you pay by Online EFTPOS.

Account2Account

Account2Account (A2A) is a payment method if you do not have, or do not use, a credit card, or if your bank doesn't support online EFTPOS.

You can make online payments directly from your bank account via our website, in real time.

Speak to your bank for more information about A2A transfers.

For information about paying your rates with A2A, visit Pay your property rates online - Account2Account (bank transfer).
