Sustainable finance

Sustainable finance is funding we use to pay for projects, assets and activities that support our climate objectives in Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland's Climate Plan.

It includes:

  • green debt: This is debt we use to pay for projects and assets that have positive environmental outcomes.
  • sustainability-linked debt: This is debt we use to pay for general business costs. How much we pay for this debt depends on whether we meet certain sustainability performance targets.

We raise sustainable finance by following our Sustainable Finance Framework. This framework sets out how we:

  • manage this debt
  • report to our investors.

For more information, read our annual reporting and Sustainable Finance Framework.
