Apply for the 2025 Artist in Residence

The 2025 residency is an opportunity to live and make art in an Auckland regional park for eight weeks during October and November 2025.

Aim of the residency

The aim of the residency is to:

  • support artistic endeavours in Auckland regional parks
  • share the art created to highlight overlooked or undervalued aspects of the regional parks
  • raise awareness of the regional parks as places of interest and inspiration.

We welcome applications from:

  • photographers
  • printmakers
  • painters
  • sculptors
  • film makers
  • installation artists
  • composers
  • writers
  • poets
  • choreographers
  • and other creatives.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

Residency location for 2025

In 2025, the residency is based at Barr Cottage, Huia in the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park.
