Record of building work (RoW)

All Restricted Building Work (RBW) must be carried out by a Licenced Building Practitioner (LBP).

Complete and submit a record of building work

Under section 88 of the Building Act 2004, you must complete a record of work (RoW) if:

  • you are a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP), and
  • you have carried out or supervised RBW as part of a building consent.

You must:

  • complete the RoW form
  • provide the RoW to the owner and territorial authority (Auckland Council) as soon as possible. This prevents delays in issuing the Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) to the owner.

We recommend collecting all documentation as you go to meet your obligations under the Building Act.

You or your customer can scan and upload RoWs to their CCC documentation on myAUCKLAND during the inspection phase.

Our tip

Make sure you complete the RoW correctly. Incorrect or incomplete forms will not be accepted and you will need to re-submit.
