America's Cup - Wynyard / Hobson 147America's Cup - Wynyard / Hobson On 13 April 2018 Panuku Development Auckland lodged a new resource consent application for the America's Cup infrastructure and event. This new application (the “Wynyard Hobson Application”) relates to the physical infrastructure for the syndicate bases, event infrastructure and associated operations and activities for the 36th Americas Cup regatta. The Application is for the construction, occupation, use and maintenance of permanent and temporary infrastructure and undertaking of activities within the coastal marine area and on land, associated with the America’s Cup. The proposal requires various land use consents and regional permits associated with the structures, construction works and for the operations and events under the Auckland Unitary Plan: Operative in Part and the Auckland Council Regional Plan: Coastal Plan. Overall it is a non-complying activity. The Applicant has requested that it be directly referred to the Environment Court for consideration. Council has agreed that this resource consent will be decided by the Environment Court (rather than by a Council Hearing) - a direct referral. If you make a submission on the Resource Consent application, and decide that you would also like to be involved in the hearing, you will need to file a 'Section 274 Notice' with the court when Panuku serves it's direct referral application on you. Unless you become a section 274 party, you will not be kept informed of the Court proceedings or the decision (although the written submission you made to Council will still be taken into account by the Court, whether you are a section 274 party or not). .The Ministry for the Environment has published an information sheet about the direct referral process, which can be found here: If you have any queries please contact the planning helpdesk on 09 353 9356 or Please see attached document "Direct Referral Process' for a bried summary of the process, and the details of the Court appointed three 'Process Advisors' who are able to assist in the process.Panuku Development AucklandBUN6031837229/04/2018 5:00:00 p.m.28/05/2018 8:00:00 a.m.Bill LoutitSimpson GriersonPrivate Bag 92518Auckland
