3. Fees for acupuncture licences

​One annual fee applies. Health licence fees are non-refundable and are not pro-rated.

Single high risk service - A single service which is categorised as piercing the skin e.g. acupuncture, body piercing , derma rolling, electrolysis, extractions, red vein treatment, stamping, tattooing or traditional tattooing. $423
Multiple high risk services - More than one service which is categorised as piercing the skin e.g. acupuncture, body piercing , derma rolling, electrolysis, extractions, red vein treatment, stamping, tattooing or traditional tattooing. $423

Our tip

We issue health protection licences to individuals, not a businesses. These licences cannot be transferred. If you buy an existing business, you must apply for a new licence.

Under the Health and Hygiene Bylaw 2013, members of the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturists (Acupuncture NZ) or the New Zealand Acupuncture Standards Authority (NZASA) are exempt from our licensing and code of practice requirements.
