About the plan change
This Draft Variation seeks to make change to Plan Change 5.
Plan Change 5 aims to introduce a new precinct in the Auckland Unitary Plan (Operative in Part) and rezone approximately 360 hectares of mostly Future Urban zoned land to a mix of business and residential zones. This Draft Variation seeks to make changes to Plan Change 5 to respond to the following:
- Response to the PPC 5 engine testing noise contours that have been updated by the Minister of Defence
- National Policy Statement Urban Development 2020 (NPSUD2020) Objectives
- Further information about other aspects of the plan change relating to:
- Amended precinct provisions to be consistent with the Auckland Regional Discharge Consent
- Change in land use at 86 Hobsonville Road, which includes a plan change boundary adjustment
- Acquisition of land for Open Space purposes at 92 and 94A Trig Road, 161 and 167 Brigham Creek Road
- Rezoning of the land that is located within the Whenuapai Airbase designation 4310 which is also within the proposed Whenuapai Precinct 3
- Trig Road realignment
- Transport provisions and precinct amendments to the proposed indicative collector roads to reflect other changes
- Change in zoning in the plan change area
- Open Space zoning for land that has been acquired by Council
