Completing a resource consented project

Once you have complied with all conditions of your resource consent, we will assess the consent. If there are no outstanding conditions we will confirm this to you in writing.

Ongoing conditions and charges

Some resource consents have conditions that need to be complied with on an ongoing basis and annual charges may apply, such as regional consents for a water permit.

Selling a property with an attached resource consent

If you have an active land use resource consent attached to a property and you decide to sell, all associated costs and responsibilities will stay with the new land owner.

But if you have a regional consent, the costs and responsibilities will stay with the named consent holder until you complete a transfer of consent form.

If you no longer wish to use your resource consent, you can surrender it.
