Omaha Drive and boat ramp stormwater upgrade

We have upgraded the stormwater network along Omaha Drive and within the Omaha Boat Ramp Reserve.

About the Omaha Drive stormwater upgrades

We have:

  • installed a new stormwater pipeline
  • realigned the stormwater network along Omaha Drive and within the Omaha Boat Ramp Reserve
  • constructed a new stormwater outfall area
  • built concrete support walls either side of the pipeline outfall to prevent erosion - known as a wingwall.

How this improves the stormwater network

These improvements:

  • reduce flooding and water pooling issues along Omaha Drive
  • protect private properties and prevent beach erosion
  • address erosion near Omaha Boat Ramp Reserve
  • improve surface water runoff in the area.

How long the work will last

The work started in September 2024 and we expect to complete it in January 2025.
