Buy bin tags

Bin tags are for use on official council rubbish bins in:

  • North Shore
  • Waitākere
  • Papakura.

Pricing may vary by area and between retailers. These are the recommended retail prices (RRP).

You can buy bin tags from your local supermarkets and selected convenience stores, libraries and service centres.

Buy orange official council rubbish bags

Our prepaid orange rubbish bags are for use in:

  • Aotea / Great Barrier Island
  • Auckland CBD
  • Franklin
  • rural areas of Papakura
  • rural areas of North Shore
  • rural areas of Waitākere
  • Waiheke Island (from 1 July 2020).

You should know

Rubbish bag prices are higher for the Hauraki Gulf islands to cover the cost of transporting large amounts of waste (e.g. recyclables and rubbish) to the mainland for disposal.
