Rodney Local Board Plan 2023

Our local board plan is a three-year strategic plan that guides local board activity, funding and investment decisions. It also influences local board input into regional strategies and plans, including the Auckland Plan (the 30-year vision for Auckland), our 10-year Budget (long-term plan) and the annual budgets.

Rodney Local Board Agreement (budget)

The local board agreement sets out the local board's budget and funding for activities and performance measures for the financial year.

Local board agreements are part of the council's annual budget.

Rodney Local Park Management Plan

Wellsford Centennial Park Masterplan

The Wellsford Centennial Park Masterplan sets the vision for the park to be a key community sports and recreational hub.

It aims to guide development of the park over the next ten years.

The masterplan will:

  • guide future decision making on investment for the park
  • provide the approximate location of new assets or improvements to existing assets and park features.

Four key values and principles will guide this masterplan. They include:

  •  manaaki
  •  taiao
  •  hauroa
  •  whanaungatanga.

​Rodney Local Board - Joint CCO Engagement Plan 2021-2022

This plan outlines how Rodney Local Board and council-controlled organisations (CCOs) will work together on community priorities.

The CCOs include:

  • Auckland Transport
  • Tātaki Auckland Unlimited
  • Eke Panuku Development
  • Watercare.

This plan also creates a framework for reporting progress.

The Rodney Local Board commissioned Beacon Pathway to find out what Kumeū and Huapai residents liked about their area and what things needed to change.

This report is a summary of the technical information and the results gathered.

​The Kumeū-Huapai Centre Plan

Rodney Local Board has developed the Kumeū-Huapai Centre Plan to guide the growth of the town centre in the short term and over the next 30 years.

The vision is to have an attractive town centre that focuses on the river, has improved connections, and celebrates its heritage and rural hinterland.

The key ideas respond to the challenges and opportunities facing the Kumeū-Huapai town centre and are supported by implementable actions:

  • We want our town centre to look better. 
  • We want to get around the centre more easily. 
  • Let's improve the river and our natural environment. 
  • The town centre is about the people.

Rodney Transport Projects Advocacy Plan (2016)

The Rodney Local Board has set out priority transport projects to be implemented over the next 10 years in Rodney. The local board will seek funding and work with key agencies to deliver these projects.

​Green Road Park masterplan

The Green Road Park masterplan sets the vision for the park and guides development and the nature of activity on the park.

In the short term, the plan supports establishing basic infrastructure to allow the public to access the park with a focus on weed removal, ecological restoration and specimen tree planting.

​Rodney Local Paths (Greenways) plans

Auckland's greenways plans are a series of visionary networks being worked on by local boards.

Their long-term aim is to greatly improve, walking, cycling, recreational and ecological connections across the region.

 

Rodney West Local Paths (Greenways) Plan

The long-term greenways plan for Rodney West covers the Rodney Local Board area west of State Highway One (SH1) and north to, and including, Wainui and Kaukapakapa.

Kumeū, Huapai, Waimauku and Riverhead Local Paths (Greenways) Plan

The Kumeū, Huapai, Waimauku and Riverhead Local Paths (Greenways) Plan identifies five priority routes that will guide the prioritisation of walkway and cycleway projects in the future.

​Puhoi to Pakiri Local Paths (Greenways) Plan

The Puhoi to Pakiri Greenways – Local Paths Plan identifies the main priorities that will become walkway and cycleway projects in the future. The Rodney Local Board developed the plan after community consultation. The vision is to improve walking, cycling and ecological connections throughout the region.
