Cheque payments for property rates no longer an option

The New Zealand banking industry is phasing out cheques as a payment option throughout the remainder of 2021.

As a result, we are no longer accepting cheques for property rates payments – effective from 30 April 2021.

Other ways to pay your rates

There are many other ways you can pay your property rates, including:

  • direct debit

  • bill payment

  • automatic payment

  • telephone banking.

Online payments

You can pay your property rates online - there is a convenience fee of 1.75 per cent for all credit and debit card online transactions.

You can also manage your rates online with myAUCKLAND.

In person payments

We accept Eftpos or cash at our service centres.
