How to renew your food registration

It is your responsibility to ensure you renew your registration before it expires. You cannot renew an expired registration.

We will send you a renewal application form before your notice of registration expires, so let us know if your email or postal address has changed.

If your registration has expired, you will need to re-register by lodging a new application and pay the full registration fees. Re-registering your business may impact your verification frequency.

Email ehsupport@aklc.govt.nz if there are any changes to your registration.

If you are a new owner and the New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) is changing, you will need to apply for new registration. You can only renew if the NZBN number remains the same.

If you continue to trade with an expired registration, the registration authority will consider legal action in the form of infringements or prosecution.

When you receive your renewal application, check the details and complete the form.

Your renewal letter will advise on how you can pay to renew your registration.
